What determines value

When it comes to finding the value of a shoe, there are a lot of factors that come into play. Below are some of the main ones that determine value:

Supply and demand - This is a huge factor. If the supply is low and the demand is high, the item will go for a lot. If the supply is high and the demand is low, it will not. In simple terms, the lesser the stock and the higher the demand, the higher the profit margins.

Brand - Popular brands such as Supreme, Nike, Jordan, Off--White, and Adidas will tend to have a higher value than a sketcher. This is because of the reputation and value a brand holds. However, just because a brand is well known does not mean it will have an aftermarket value. A lot of items are bricks (little to no resell value).

Collaborations - When popular brands collaborate with popular people, good things can happen. Essentially all of the Off--White x Nike collabs have been resold for crazy amounts. This is because of the 'hype' generated because of the collab. Well known people such as Kanye West, Travis Scott, Takashi Murakami, and more have had collabs with brands. Generally, the more well-known and 'hyped' a person is, the higher the resell value on the collab item will be.
